Memorial Day
Howdy folks! I hope everyone had a fun, safe memorial day weekend.
Sad news... as many of you may know, Alex Toth, comic book artist, designer of Space Ghost and many other characters, passed away yesterday. Thanks for all the wonderful art Alex, you'll be missed.
On a brighter note, I'll be finishing the 'Sneaky' piece tomorrow as well as the companion drawing to Dogfight #1. I should be posting them tomorrow afternoon some time.

Home Stretch
Sorry for going so long between posts. I had to get invites out and take a defensive driving course. But, now I'm back at the easel. I should have this one done sometime today and I'm going to try and have another one done before I hang my show next week. Wish me luck!

Sneaky Sneaky, Part 2
So, I've made some more progress on my new painting. I really like how this one is turning out. I should have another "in-progress" post either tonight or tomorrow. Enjoy!
Leapin' Lizards!
I got back from Chicago a couple of days ago. My buddy Brian and I went to the Shedd Aquarium. They had this really cool lizard exhibit in addition to beluga whales, dolphins and various other seafaring critters. A few of the lizard highlights are below.
Just to give you a sense of scale, the first two images are of a komodo dragon. That sucker is at least 7 to 8 feet long and weighs in at about 140 pounds. I imagine they must feed it villagers or something.

Sneaky Sneaky
Here's another painting in progress. I'm really enjoying getting back into oils. I feel like I'm getting the hang of it. I'll post more next week after I get back from Chicago and get some more done. Have a great weekend!

Cool Swag...
OK. My buddy Ben, who works at Disney, is a god among men.
I came home from CAPE to find these sweet t-shirts waiting for me...
Yes,... it's OK to drool.

CAPE: The Aftermath
Well, I just got back from CAPE a couple of hours ago. I had a really fun time. It was great hanging out with friends both old and new. The after party was really cool. They had a live art jam. All the artists were invited to get up and do large drawings for the audience while a DJ was spinning. There are some seriously talented artists out there! Once I get settled back in, I'll post some links to some of them.
I did a few sketches, but I only remembered to take a photo of one of them. D'oh! This guy had a great theme for his sketch book... MAD SCIENTISTS... here's my mad robot scientist... although I'm not sure what's mad about him... except maybe he's a robot wearing black rubber gloves and a smock...?
p.s.- Thanks to the Strathmore rep who gave me the free sketchbook. You sir, are a rock star!
