Zombies...

I was at Starbucks tonight drawing with some friends. My buddy Joe was drawing zombies and inspired me to do the same. So, here's my 15 minute zombie. He's a little worse for wear. Eating brains is a lot harder when you're missing your lower jaw. Bone Apetite!

Finally!...

I can post this! For those of you who are Fables fans, I got to do a print for Austin Books & Comics to help celebrate Remembrance Day. Bill Willingham (creator fo Fables) and Matt Sturges (writer of Jack of Fables) were on hand to sign comics and prints.

I got to spend a little time with them over the past couple of days. They're really great guys and I really enjoyed getting to know them a little. So, without further ado, here's the art I did for the print...

Austin Books still has some prints available signed by Bill, Matt & myself. Go get one!

Busy...

Sorry I haven't posted for a few days. I'm working on a cool project for Austin Books. Bill Willingham and two of the artists of Fables are coming into town for a signing. Brad's commissioned me to do a Fables-esque print for the event. I'm really excited. If you're a Fables fan, you should definitely go to this event. It's Saturday the 21st from 7:30-11:30. If you don't know about Fables, run out and pick up the first trade. It's great. I'll post art for this after the event. Brad asked me to keep the art under wraps until the night of. I'm so tired...

Well, I made a pretty valiant effort, but I'm done. I gotta get some sleep. Here are another 3 pages. I'll definitely finish this comic. I'll post stuff later this week as I get it done. Here you go...

Update...

Here's 3 more pages...

Update...

OK, I'm pretty behind right. I had a change of plan on how I was doing my comic, but now I'm back on course. Here are the first three pages...

Geez!

Time is going by waaaay to fast. I got my thumbnails and text done, now I get to actually draw this stuff out. Fun. Fun. Fun. More later.
Oh, by the way... I hate Thomas. He's already got like 7 pages inked. Bastard!

Storyline...

Well, I got a story line. I've downloaded most of my reference photos, so I'm feeling pretty good. It's a WWII story set in the South Pacific. I'll elaborate more later. Gotta get back to work. I should start having some images in the next couple of posts.

It has begun...

OK, 24 hour comic book has begun... and I'm posting about it online intead of getting started. Aaaaaaaaah! Must get to work....

What was I thinkin'?

Well, I'll be joining the comic book lemmings this year and jumping off the cliff of no sleep. That's right! I'm attempting to do 24 hour Comic Book Day at Austin books and Comics tomorrow. Wish me luck! I'll have my laptop with me, so I'll try and make a couple of posts if I get a chance. Feel free to drop by if you're in the area.

Now I'm going to take a nap and try and charge up for tomorrow.

Small World...

I'm watching the Hisory Channel, and lo-and-behold Marsh Mokhtari, a guy I played rugby with in Santa Monica, is hosting this show called Death Road. Really random. Maybe playing for the Santa Monica Dolphins is good karma or something. Heck, a year-and-a-half after I played for them I got my gig as an animater on A Scanner Darkly. Other players that did well are Billy Campbell (The Rocketeer) and Johnny Lee Miller (Hackers, Trainspotting). They weren't playing by the time I joined the team though. Small world. Wierd. Just thought I'd share.

The Bride...

Holy Crap! I finally finished The Bride of Frankenstein pin-up late last night. Now I just have to go hang it at Amy's and I'll be done hanging my show. Hope y'all like it.

Trans-Mongolian...

My buddy Ben, who works at Disney, is having a photography art show. If you are in LA and can actually gain access to the Disney Feature Animation Gallery, you can see it in all it's glory. If you're a mere mortal with no contacts, you can see some of the shots here... ToyCamera.com.

He took all these shots with a Holga. They're really cool. Go check it out!

Sold!!!

I sold the Headless Horseman painting last night! Woohoo! Thanks Steve, you rock!

BoogieMan...

Woohoooooo! The show has been hung. I just have to finish up the Bride of Frankenstein, and I'll be completely done. I think the show came out nice. The difference in Christopher's style from mine works really well. I'm really excited. If you're in Austin, go by and check it out after Wednesday. I should have my last painting up by then.

Here's one of the final pieces for the show. It's my disco BoogieMan. He's kind of cute in a hideous, awkward kind of way.

Postcard...

Here's the front and back of the postcard for my show. It gives all the info you need. Swing by and check it out if you get a chance.
Must... sleep...

btw- For those that don't know us, Christopher's the one in glasses, I'm the one getting dragged out of the booth. Altering photos is fun.

Beginning Bride...

Well, I got a decent start on the Bride of Frankenstein pin-up. The face is always the hardest part. I'll probably have to hang this one a day late.:( I hate having to do that. I'll post another pic tomorrow or Monday.
