PacMan All-Star Rejects Sneak Peek

PacMan All-Star Rejects Sneak Peek, a photo by Manly Art on Flickr.

The Urban Vinyl Daily "Blow Me" online toy show opens tomorrow (September 8, 2012)! It's a show anyone can attend if they have an internet connection. Judging by the artist line-up, it should be a great show. So go check it out Saturday September 8th at 3pm EST! The toys will be available here: urbanvinyldaily.storenvy.com/

This is a sneak peek of two of my pieces for the show. They're ghosts that didn't quite make the cut for the PacMan game.

Vinyl Thoughts 3 Sketch Cards

Sketch cards to be randomly inserted in the Vinyl Thoughts 3 "Rough Sketch" trading card packs. For $25 you not only get a very limited set of trading cards, you get into the show a whole hour early and get your pick of the awesome customs that will be on display!

P7 Labbit T.I.E. Fighter Pilot

P7 Labbit T.I.E. Fighter Pilot, a photo by Manly Art on Flickr.

It's Friday! And a holiday weekend! So here's another preview card for our show coming up at Kidrobot NYC in October.

This is a custom 10" Lustre Gloss Labbit with a made-from-scratch light-up air filter box thingy.

Hammerhead ArqSpin

Here's an interactive spin animation of one of my customs. I really like the ArqBall platform. My only gripe is that the image quality isn't a little better. That could be due to the fact that I was shooting this on my iPhone. An iPad might do better.

TeeFury- Lo Pan Express

TeeFury- Lo Pan Express, a photo by Manly Art on Flickr.

Hey gang, my Big Trouble in Little China inspired Lo Pan Express will be the t-shirt of the day at TeeFury on Thursday, August 23! This is a great opportunity to get one of my favorite designs for a great price.

Once the shirt goes live at midnight, you'll be able to purchase it here: www.teefury.com/

FYI- The Chinese characters say "Lo Pan Express". James Hong (Lo Pan) himself confirmed that I got it right. (So you don't have to worry that you're running around with a t-shirt that says Peking Duck or something. Oh, and I think they may be going with a darker red)

**Update**
Thanks for all the support! The sale went really well!

I've sent digital Preview Cards to various toy blogs of pieces from my upcoming show at Kidrobot New York. As they show up on said blogs (or I get tired of waiting), I'll post them here for you to check out. This one appeared on Toycutter.

Art Wars: A New Hope Flyer

Art Wars: A New Hope Flyer (Front), a photo by Manly Art on Flickr.

Scott Kinnebrew and I will be having a two man show at Kidrobot in New York City on October 11th during New York Comic-Con! It's a one night only Star Wars themed custom toy and art show. If you'll be in New York for Comic-Con, you should come by. It'd be great to see you!

I designed the flyer and it should start showing up around town in late September. So keep an eye out.

The Day of the Businessmen

The Day of the Businessmen, a photo by Manly Art on Flickr.

This is my second piece for the Adventure Time with Oh No! Doom show opening tomorrow night in Chicago. I really loved this episode ("Business Time"). The businessmen were hysterical. Especially when they charged into battle with business suits and armor. It also didn't hurt having Brian Posehn voicing the lead businessman.

16"x"12" Dr. Martins Inks on 140lb Canson Montval Watercolor paper.

There are some amazing artists participating in this show, so if you're in the Chicago area you should definitely get down to 1800 N. Milwaukee Ave Saturday evening.

If you're not in the Chicago area, you can join the Oh No! Doom preview list HERE to see all the pieces in the show.

Fionna & Cake

Oh No! Doom has their Adventure Time show opening this Friday night! Here is one of my two pieces for the show. The show has some serious talent, so if you are in the Chicago area this weekend you should definitely check it out!

Dr. Mrs. The Monarch Print

Dr. Mrs. The Monarch Print, a photo by Manly Art on Flickr.

You loved her as Dr. Girlfriend, but you'll find her irresistible as Dr. Mrs. The Monarch. The Super-Science Journal thought so too! She graces the cover of the swimsuit issue... and boy is it a hum-dinger!

Before she met Barney Rubble, she was Betty McBricker, also known as Bang Shift Betty. She liked her men the same way she liked her cars... slick, fast and easy to control. She made it to the number 2 spot on Hotrod Hussies' list of all-time top 10 hussiest hussies.

Available at the Manly Art Shop as a 12"x18" print.

Flathead Frankie

Flathead Frankie, a photo by Manly Art on Flickr.

Frankie was your average everyday greaser… until one fateful night. They were racing for pink slips when Frankie lost control and was killed in the resulting crash. Frankie's body disappeared from the morgue that night. Nobody's sure what happened, but legend has it Frankie can be seen some nights barreling down the highway in his Frankencruiser.

The Boxer

Hey Gang, my buddy Lance Myers has a Kickstarter project to fund his animated short “Boxer Story”. What he’s done so far is stellar. Lance is ridiculously talented and I guarantee his film will be better than 97% of the drivel that gets put out these days. Lance worked on “Space Jam”, “Anastasia” and he was my animation lead on “A Scanner Darkly”. Go check it out. You’ll be glad you did!

You can show him some love here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1101984741/boxer-story-the-animated-short-film

Art Card Set 1

Art Card Set 1, a photo by Manly Art on Flickr.

This is the first 68 sketch cards I did for the "May the Fourth Be With You" card set I made. The card surface was slightly waxy, so the only thing that would stick well was Sharpie.

So, here are a bunch of Sharpie drawings for your viewing pleasure. I recommend zooming in. I did these over the course of about 2 days.

For those of you that ordered cards, they ship out on Wednesday!

Trading Card Update

First off... A big "Thank You!!!" to everybody that ordered my trading card sets on the fourth. I was pleasantly surprised by the response!

Art sketch cards are complete and I'm taking the sheets to get UV coated and trimmed out Monday. If all goes according to plan, all orders will ship out on Wednesday!

Thanks again, folks. I will definitely be doing another set next year.
