Signed "Jilted" Print

Signed "Jilted" Print, originally uploaded by Manly Art.
I was able to get Carrie Fisher to sign one of my "Jilted" prints this weekend at the Dallas Comic-Con. She was really nice.

The autograph reads:
For my ex boyfriend Jason, I'll never forgive you for this! - Carrie Fisher

I think she liked it. However, I'm not sure if the unforgivable act was dumping her or making the print in the first place. :)

Bean Pot Toiz Sticker Design

Bean Pot Toiz Sticker Design, originally uploaded by Manly Art.
This the sticker/business card I designed for Bean Pot Toiz. We were going for a Wacky Packages feel. Grego and Stacie are the nicest couple in the world. Go to conventions and buy their toys. We were going for a Wacky Packages feel.

Jinkies!

Jinkies!, originally uploaded by Manly Art.
Velma's trying to do a little light reading by candlelight in a haunted mansion and that pesky Casper just won't leave her alone! What's a girl to do?

I'll these and my Batgirl prints with me at the Dallas Comic-Con this weekend. If you're in the DFW area, come by and say "Hi". I'm at table 209.

Available as a print here.

Occupational Hazard

Occupational Hazard, originally uploaded by Manly Art.
This is a homage to my favorite era of pin-up art. In particular to Gil Elvgren, in my humble opinion, the greatest pin-up artist of all time. I wish I was in his league as a painter, but I feel I at least got in the parking lot of the ballpark with this one.

15"x20" Acrylic on illustration board.

Available as a print here.

Jilted

Jilted, originally uploaded by Manly Art.
"Well, Jake." said the mystery woman. "You look just fine down there... slithering in the mud like vermin. You're not going to get away from me this time."
"It's good to see ya sweetheart!" Jake said sheepishly.
"You contemptible pig!" she said icily. "I remained celibate for you. I stood in the back of a cathedral waiting, in celibacy, for you with 300 friends and relatives in attendance. My uncle hired the best Romanian caterers in the state. To obtain the seven limousines for the wedding party, my father used up his last favors with Mad Pete Trullo. So, for me, for my mother, my grandmother, my father, my uncle and for the common good... I must now kill you... and your brother."

This is a print I did for the upcoming Dallas Comic-Con. Carrie Fisher will be signing autographs and I thought I'd do something a little different. I loved her character in The Blues Brothers. Her beauty salon was called "Curl Up and Dye". How awesome is that?

Prints are available HERE.

Spy vs. Spy

Spy vs. Spy, originally uploaded by Manly Art.
Apparently it is the 50th Anniversary of "Spy vs. Spy" from Mad Magazine. SvS was probably my favorite strip in the magazine when I was growing up.

So, in honor of the two sneaks turning 50, I did this little dawing. Enjoy!
